During his inauguration of the 29th edition of “Cancun’s Travel Mart Mexico Summit 2016” Enrique de la Madrid Cordero confirmed that Quintana Roo has cemented its position as the preferred Mexican region for world travellers. With 13.3 million domestic and international hotel visitors, the state is ranked as the country’s number one tourism region. Here is an interesting benchmark: In 2015, the minister of tourism for Brazil, Latin America’s foremost economy, reported 6.3 million arrivals.
