The mayor of Playa del Carmen, Filiberto Martínez Méndez, recently announced the construction of new mega lifeguard towers along the beaches, which will be equipped with modules for tourist information along with toilets, showers and a specific area for first aid.
He announced that a new guard tower would be built along every kilometre of beachfront along Playa del Carmen and also new plans to further clean the streets of any rubbish or debris and meeting the general needs of citizens by repairing sports areas and improving public spaces along many other things with officials moving along individual sectors.
Just another sign of the continual development and beautification that is taking place in this area of the Riviera Maya.
