Kayaking the Riviera

It used to be that the sight of somebody with a Kayak around the Riviera was a rare thing. Now, the popularity of this activity has literally grown up along the coast line here.  So much so, that there are many rental shops located along Puerto Moreles, Playa, Cozumel, and Tulum to accommodate the rise of this excellent activity.
When it comes to “seeing things in a different way”, a few hours in a Kayak is the up, close, and personal way to explore the sparkling lagoons of the southern Riviera. Brining a snorkel and mask to take an excursion while you are out and about is a must.  The most renowned spot to shove off is the Biosphere Reserve of Sian Ka’an, located less than 50 km to the southwest of Tulum, through Highway No. 307. This is one of the most impressive ecological reserves across America and the world, covering an area reaching more than 527,000 hectares. Depending on your level of experience, you can rent a tour guide as well and enjoy the coast with professional guidance and best equipment.

Also, The Tres Rios Ecological Park provides an excellent alternative to live kayaking in Riviera Maya: located just over 10 km north of Playa del Carmen, via Highway 307, this ecopark gives you the chance to enjoy this activity with the whole family in a natural setting of incomparable beauty.
