Aeromexico on Wednesday announced its first-ever flights connecting San Jose and Mexico City.
The flights will be nonstop from Mineta San Jose International Airport, officials said.
Aeromexico’s service and expanded service by other carriers, such as Southwest, Alaska and Frontier, have arrived as Silicon Valley and other parts of the Bay Area have experienced generally robust job growth.
“This flight provides a convenient option for both Silicon Valley travelers with business ties in Mexico’s capital city and residents who are looking to visit friends and family in the region,” San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo said.
Aeromexico will operate daily flights during the summer season, starting June 1 and ending Aug. 31.
