A Oaxaca market in Playa Del Carmen!!

Have you just arrived in Playa Del Carmen or you have been here for a few days you want to see more traditional Mexico? Quintana-Roo state offers you the possibility to discover many traditions and many specialties. Between the ruins, the clothes, the typical recipes, you can meet the Mexican spirit in every corner of the town, and this despite the huge tourism- orientation of Playa Del Carmen.

However, the past week, as well as this week, other states have invited themselves to Playa Del Carmen. Oaxaca is present in the 21st of July square in front of the City Hall in the Center. People from Oaxaca have installed a small and very cozy market with many specialties from their region!! You have to know that Oaxaca (pronounce it “Wa-ha-kaa”) is one the most traditional state after Chiapas state.
If you have 5 minutes, go take a look at their products. If you have 2 hours, go and enjoy the market. Check out every single product: between the small handcrafted figurines, the typical clothes, the home made mezcal (alcohol made from the maguey). In the bottle of this former, you will see a worm. This worm gives and changes the taste of the beverage!!! Incredible but true!! If you speak a bit of Spanish, try to exchange a few words with the locals. Mexicans are so nice and so warm. Ask to taste the product, it is common here. No need to buy. Just enjoy! If you like, obviously you can buy. Do not hesitate to ask questions about the product how it is made, they are usually very informative and knowledgeable about what they are selling.
American-development.com and canada2playa.com wish you a nice trip through the Mexican traditions.
