Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Thanks to a wildlife program at Xcaret, Mexico has seen the population of the Scarlet Macaw nearly double.
Rodolfo Raigoza Figueras, Director of Conservation of Xcaret says that a reintroduction program by the facility has seen a significant increase in the Scarlet Macaw population in the jungles of Mexico. He says in particular, the species has nearly doubled in the areas of Chiapas and Veracruz.
