Project Jacquard is authored by Levi`s and Google, and includes a denim jacket equipped with hundreds of sensors that are able to communicate with a smartphone.
It is designed for cyclists using a cell phone while riding a bicycle, with the purpose of avoiding dangerous situations for all participants in the traffic. In this way, a real problem would be solved in the world, said the creative director of Levi Strauss. The jacket is made of ˝smart fabric˝ in a way that will enable the users to communicate with their smartphones through notifications they will receive on one of their sleeves.
The jacket should arrive to European and American cities in the spring, and the price is still unknown, but it is assumed it will be high. Only certain lucky persons will have the opportunity to try on a test sample of the intelligent jacket.
