At The Day Spa,on the 4th Street, between the Beach and the 5th Avenue, The Day Spa offers you different massages which respect your body, your physical condition and needs.
The Day Spa is a place to rest and relax your body and your mind.It is the place to provide your body a new vitality and a peaceful harmony.
Here are the explanations of each of them:
1) The Swedish massage
The Swedish massage is the most common and best-known type of massage in Western countries. You are going for the first time to the Spa? You don’t get massage very often, the Swedish massage is perfect to start.
The massage generally starts with the back, using various massage strokes that include effleurage (gliding), kneading, and friction, stretching and sometimes tapping.Legs come after. When the back side is done, you will turn around and offer the front side of your body to the therapist hands.
If you don’t like to show your body, do not worry, The Day Spa therapists are very respectful. They always discover only the part of your body which will be massaged. Your body will never be totally discovered.
2) The Deep Tissue
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and connective tissue. It uses many of the same movements and techniques as precedent massage but with a more intense pressure. It is obviously a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots.

If you take it and your body hurts the next day, DO NOT worry, It means that a lot of waste products were flushed out. You will be fine after 1 or 2 days. A Good tip to know: you must drink a lot of water after a deep tissues massage. It helps to avoid the after-massage pain.
If you have knots for a long time, do not expect only one deep tissues massage to take them away! Knots have been created over the middle-long term; they will go away on the short-middle term with the repetition of massages. Yet, it will perfectly works if you a have recent knots.

9) Holistic Massage
With the Holistic massage, the massager focuses herself on the pains of your body. They determine where the pain is located and target their work to relieve the pain. This massage is totally focused on the person. It is personalized massage as everyone has different needs. For instance, a nurse will not suffer from the same pain than an office worker. The massager adapts the massage to the person.
(I’ve got a few of them; I just love them as it takes all the characteristics of your body into consideration!)
The Reiki massage… Not many institutions provide this type of massages. The Reiki massage originally comes from Japan. On the contrary of Western countries, Asiatic massages are oriented and based on the circulation of energy whereas European and North American countries ‘s massages are rather based on the muscle.
|The 7 energy points|
In fact, the body possesses different energy points, called chakras. Energy is circulating between each of them. The Reiki helps the energy to move from one point to another one, relieving the patient from pain, stress and worries. The Reiki is all about emotions, energy flows and feelings. It may appear strange for us, Americans, Canadians and Europeans, as our countries are based on the “real, the tangible, the rational” and we have for a long time put what we can call the “spiritual” aside. However, it is a nice discovery and rewarding experience to try it.
11) Hot Stone Massage
Hot stone massage is a specialty massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones, either as an extension of their own hands, or by placing them on the body while they massage other parts of the body. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply, more quickly.
Besides the massage services, they provide hair braids and pedicure and manicure!! If you come with your children, all of you can have a care in the same time. Massages for the adults, hair braids for your daughter and a nice pedicure for the footballer feet of your son!
