Mexico City, Mexico — Celebrations began around Mexico late last night when early counts revealed the lead López Obrador had on the other candidates, a lead which only grew as ballots were counted.
With a landslide win with more than 53 percent of the votes, the new president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, made a public speech last night in Mexico City where he acknowledged the early advantage he had over the others during the counting of the Sunday elections.
“We won! Smile, celebrate and enjoy, the fourth transformation is coming. Thanks to everyone, we are not going to let you down! See you in the Zócalo,”
