With the participation of production houses and leading specialists in the country, from March 9th to 12th The “1st Mexican Wine Festival in The Riviera Maya” will take place, to promote knowledge, tasting and appreciation of the Mexican wine industry with more than four centuries of existence, the quality transcends borders, it is widely recognized internationally. In this festival different Mexican wine houses will be presented, from ones with great tradition and reputation internationally to small producers of artisan wines.
Winemakers, sommeliers and chefs are the stars of this event, because for the first time in history more than 40 experts spreading their invaluable knowledge about Mexican wine come together to share their expertise with the public.
One of the main objectives of the festival is to promote the wine industry of the country under an inclusive approach, integrating major leaders in the industry along with educational institutions, media and consumers to promote and strengthen ties that benefit the industry.
The wine houses participating in the festival are:
Cavas Pedro Domecq, Viñedos Azteca, Monte Xanic, Casa Madero, L.A. Cetto, Cavas Freixenet, Bodegas Santo Tomás y La Redonda. Dentro de las personalidades del mundo del vino que forman parte del festival se encuentran: Luis Fernando Otero Torregrosa, Hans Joseph Backhoff, Laura Zamora, Pedro Poncelis Jr., Pilar Meré, René Rentería y Víctor Torres Alegre.
Activities will take place in different venues: The opening will be on March 9th at Fifth Avenue in Playa del Carmen, the conference will take place on March 10th at The Royal Hotel, Playa del Carmen; and Xcaret Park will host lectures on March 12th, along with an exceptional vintage night in Hacienda Henequenera. At the same time, the most exclusive and renowned restaurants in the Riviera Maya will be the ambassadors of the festival, each one hosting different wine houses and creating together a unique tasting experience for this occasion.
