In 2015 Mexicans saved the equivalent of 602 thousand homes during a whole year. This Sunday April the third is implemented the summer schedule just as every year. Mexicans must remember to set their clocks one hour ahead so they can start their day within the new time.

With the exceptions of Sonora and Quintana Roo every state of the country has been using this practice in order to take advantage of the most sunny period in the year, this way the use of electricity is diminished in favor of natural light.

Studies reveal that the total saivings are around 46.47 gigawatts the same as 9.18 million lamps turned on 24 hours for a year. The annual contribution is estimated for 1,470 million pesos.
