The director of the Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo (CPTQ), Darío Flota Ocampo said that during the summer holidays will seek to give more promotional impulse to destinations such as Bacalar, Isla Mujeres, Mahahual and Holbox, this in order to have greater influx of visitors this year, in addition to showing other attractions of the entity.
The director recalled that summer holidays represent an important economic spill for Quintana Roo before the visit of European tourism, mainly from Spain, London, France and Italy, this coupled with the people of Latin America.
Ocampo recalled that these holidays await the arrival of four million national and international passers-by, calculating an economic flow of more than three billion dollars.
He said that currently the state has 1,067 hotels and 100 thousand 986 rooms, in addition to theme parks, archaeological sites, as well as natural attractions.
According to figures from the Cancun International Airport (AIC), from January to June of this year they received 13 million 214 thousand 393 passengers, which represents a growth of 2.1 percent compared to the same period of time last year, reason for which they expect a significant increase in the arrival of flights during the summer.
