Mexico Wants 200,000 Indian Tourists by 2022
Mexico is setting its sights on India.
As one of the next big growth markets for inbound tourism, The Mexico Tourism Board hopes to attract more than 200,000 Indian travelers by 2022. If reached, the goal would be a substantial increase over current numbers.
In 2016, more than 64,000 Indian visitors, as identified by nationality, traveled to Mexico. When viewed by country of origin, however, the number of visitors from India to Mexico in 2016 was 22,431.
Outbound tourism from India is expected to grow to about 50 million, according to a press release from the Mexico Tourism Board, which is hoping to capture a four percent share of that market.
