With participants from Chihuahua, Veracruz, Chiapas and host Quintana Roo, the fifth edition of the parade of catrinas will have three meeting points until reaching Plaza 28 de Julio.
The festival Todas Somos Catrinas (we are all catrinas) that began work with shredded paper courses in different venues of the sponsors and that will conclude next week, is ready for its participants to join not only the traditional parade of catrinas, but this time will feature the elaboration of murals in donated walls for this purpose, explained Jenni Gaona, director of the festival.
With 20 exhibitors from Chihuahua, Veracruz, Chiapas, and the host Quintana Roo, they are ready to perform the murals as an activity prior to the parade of catrinas; The organizer explained that the appointment for the parade is on Saturday, November 2, at 12 noon in Paseos del Carmen, on the corner of Avenida 10 with Calle 2 and 38 with Quinta, places where those interested can arrive with their makeup and from 4 in the afternoon the contingents will leave from the meeting points until they reach Plaza 28 de Julio.
That same January 2 will have cultural activities so it is expected that the activities culminate at 10 pm. For this is the fifth edition, Jenny Gaona explained that they expect an estimated 500 people characterized as catrinas, a figure that could double the 300 who attended last year’s activities.
For those interested, the organizer made available the Facebook and Instagram sites Parade of Catrinas 2019 also commented that there will be a prize of five thousand pesos for the best individual or group costumes and that on this occasion the invited state is Veracruz.
Finally, he mentioned that all events are free and invited citizens and visitors to participate in the awards ceremony that will take place at 11 p.m. in La Ciudadela on the day of the event.
